Epic Games just confirmed that a first-person mode is coming to Fortnite in Fortnite. After a long wait, we will finally get to see our favorite BR from a new perspective.
Fortnite has long been known for its third-person perspective, which gives players a wide view that's really helpful, especially in Build mode. Players have even used tricks to expand their field of view even further, but soon it's going to be the complete opposite - first-person! After about 2 years of rumors and leaks, Epic Games has finally made an official announcement.
First-Person mode announced for 2024 in Fortnite Creative
In Fortnite Chapter 3, well-known leakers like Hypex discovered that Epic Games was actively working on a first-person camera. In Chapter 4, a glitch was even found that could force the perspective to be first-person. And now in 2024 it's finally happening, with Epic introducing a dedicated first-person view to Fortnite.

This isn't coming out of nowhere. Ever since Epic Games made it possible for anyone to build maps using UEFN in Fortnite's creative mode, many new mechanics and physics have been introduced to Fortnite. And by the end of 2024, first-person view will be officially usable in the Fortnite Creative mode for the first time. But that's not all.
Will the first-person mode also come to Battle Royale?
In the recent State of Unreal presentation, Epic Games announced that Fortnite will fully transition to UEFN in 2025, which could open up countless new possibilities. However, it's conceivable that the first-person view could be incorporated into the popular Battle Royale mode alongside UEFN.
But this doesn't mean that the classic third-person mode will be replaced, as that would be too drastic a change. Character skins wouldn't be fascinating for players from a first-person perspective. So we assume that it might be possible for players to switch to first-person view in modes like the No Build Mode or other modes by choice. However, this has not been confirmed by Epic Games yet.
Fortnite "gunbuddies" coming with first-person mode
According to the well-known Fortnite leaker Hypex, Epic recently removed some unused data from the game files. The removed data includes weapon gunbuddies. He suspects that Epic is aiming for a proper release of gunbuddies together with the first-person mode.
Gunbuddies are already common in games like Valorant, and would now also make sense in a first-person mode in Fortnite.
Fortnite have randomly removed every mention of "Weapon Charms" with this update, which is strange because they didn't remove any other scrapped cosmetic type like Hats, Bus Themes, etc.. Maybe preparing for a release with First-Person later this year along with Chapter 6 pic.twitter.com/IeuR7FMWJm
