If you've been out of the loop when it comes to Fortnite content, you might wonder what the timer inside the game is counting down to. We're here to help!
The world of Fortnite is constantly evolving and is continuously updated with new and exciting content. From quests to events and everything in between. If you take a break from Battle Royale, it might mean that you're no longer up to date.
Chapter 5 Season 3 is nearing its end and the start of Chapter 5 Season 4 is just around the corner. Dedicated players are diligently finishing everything they need to do before the season ends, while others who are new to the game may be wondering about the mysterious timer in the main menu and on the Fortnite island.
What The Countdown In Fortnite Represents
When you start Fortnite, you'll immediately be greeted by a menacing-looking timer in your lobby, which is also present in-game. If you've been following Fortnite's events throughout the season, you probably know what this means. However, if you haven't kept up, you should know that the countdown is for a live event, which will take place towards the end of the season!
It doesn't matter if you're new to the game or just returning after a long break, everyone can join in the live event celebrations once the time comes.
The event itself will take place on Saturday, August 10 at 2 PM ET. Six days later, on August 16, the new season will start.
