PMWC 2025 Format: How It Works

The tournament is structured into three major phases:

1. Group Stage (July 25–27)

  • 24 teams will be divided into three groups of eight
  • Each team will play 18 matches across 3 days
  • Top 8 teams overall move directly to the Grand Finals
  • Remaining 16 teams head to the Survival Stage

2. Survival Stage (July 29–30)

  • 16 teams will compete in a two-day elimination battle
  • Top 8 from this stage qualify for the Grand Finals
  • The bottom 8 teams are eliminated

3. Grand Finals (August 1–3)

  • The final 16 teams will battle over several matches to crown the new world champion

This format keeps the excitement alive across all stages, giving teams multiple chances to stay in the running while rewarding consistent performance.

Qualification Path and Diversity

The slot allocation system ensures fair representation from across the globe. Teams qualified via:

  • PMSL (PUBG Mobile Super League): SEA, Europe, Americas, MENA
  • PEL China and Rivals Cup
  • Host Nation Invite (Saudi Arabia)
  • Krafton regional qualifiers (Japan, South Korea)
  • Special regional events

This approach brings in diversity, with teams from Asia, Europe, MENA, and the Americas all present on the same battleground.

$3 Million Prize Pool and EWC Points

PMWC 2025 features a $3 million prize pool, one of the largest in mobile esports. Teams not only compete for prize money but also earn Club Championship points, which contribute to the overall EWC standings.
