With the new 2.0 update of Honkai Star Rail we were able to welcome some new faces to Penacony! Next to the more or less charming Aventurine and the mysterious Black Swan, one character in particular has been pushed out of the spotlight. But who is the cute bellboy Misha really?
As a 4-Star character in Honkai Star Rail, Misha often gets overlooked or, in some cases, straight up ignored by many players. However, not only is his in-game kit quite strong, but his lore is also more than exciting and raises some questions that perhaps only Misha himself knows the right answer to.
If you want to learn more about this seemingly adorable bellboy of The Reverie Hotel, then you should definitely stick around a little longer!
Honkai Star Rail Lore: Who Is Misha?
To most Star Rail players, Misha is just a really friendly bellboy at the huge “The Reverie Hotel” in Penacony. He looks almost a little too innocent, with his big purple eyes, his pale skin and the light blue hair. But is he really that simple of a character?
Speaking of Misha's eyes, have you ever noticed something special about then? — If not, you should certainly take a closer look next time, bc if you pay close attention, you can see, that his Irises are actually shaped like door locks. A beautiful detail which hints at the secrets that lie behind these pure eyes of his.
Honkai Star Rail: Is Misha The Watchmaker?
The Watchmaker is also known as Father of Penacony and holds utmost importance to everyone living on said Planet! For many, he is the protector of dreams, but despite his legendary status and tales passed down through generations, skepticism about his existence has arisen, with some believing him to be a mere conceptual creation of The Family. Across the diverse narratives and retellings, The Watchmaker's appearance and origins have seldom stayed consistent.
If you want to believe Firefly, the Watchmaker is supposed to be one of The Nameless!
But can Misha really be such an important figure? After all, he has been a pretty quiet person throughout most of the Penacony story line.
Actually, there is a series of clues that link Misha to the Watchmaker in some way, shape, or form. Let's take a closer look at some pretty obvious ones:
1. Misha Created Clockie
Clockie is probably the most famous mascot in all of Penacony and, next to that, the protagonist of a popular animated series. His catchy voice and unique appearance are familiar to all children in the city of dreams, as he embodies optimism and boundless energy!
Everyone knows that it was the Watchmaker himself who created that little clock-shaped guy, but only a few can actually see the real Clockie! Why is that, you may ask? — Well, the answer is as simple as it makes sense: Only the one, who have stayed a child in mind, can see the real Clockie! And as luck would have it, Misha is of course one of the few people who can not only perceive cookie, but can even talk to him.
In Misha's character story, part three, is one pretty important note, that shows how closely related Misha and Clockie really are and that could be the proof, that Misha indeed created Clockie, making him the Watchmaker. The following part is especially hinting towards that theory:
“He rubbed his eyes and looked incredulously at the sight before him. A golden pocket watch, which had transformed into a figure with arms and legs, dressed in a uniform and red bow tie, beckoned over him” – Misha Character Story: Part III
If that isn’t enough to convince you, that Misha really is the Watchmaker or has at least his powers, then let me show you the next piece of evidence!
2. The Watchmaker Relic Set
This next fact is much less difficult to figure out and also kind of obvious, at least if u have paid some attention to Misha's outfit!
The new 2.0 Relic set, called “Watchmaker, Master of Dream Machinations” has a pretty distinct design, with dark blue, purple and gold being the primary colors. Guess who is also mainly dressed in this special color palette? — Exactly, it's Misha!
Next to the quite obvious similarities in design and colors, each Relic set has its own piece of lore! In the lore of the Watchmaker set, it says that the perfect place for the Watchmaker to hide, is where the people of Penacony expect him the least, which would be within plain sight of everyone! — Maybe as a kind bellboy? …
3. Mikhail?
Throughout the main story line, we have encountered the name “Mikhail” over and over again, especially during our time in the true dream, as Sparkle would call it. This exact name was almost constantly spoken to us, by a soft female voice, and we could also find it written all over our screen at some occasions. It almost feels like the game want to remind us, that this character, Mikhail, exist.
One time, however, as we entered the Dreamscape for the very first time, a picture of Misha was shown to us, while the name Mikhail was screamed out be this exact same female voice. You had to pay really close attention to actually catch the moment, where Misha's picture was shown, but this can't be a coincidence, right? …
I'm definitely far from sure, that Misha himself really is the Watchmaker, however, he could very well be related to him, most likely be his grandson, as Misha is talking quite a lot about his grandfather, and how much he is looking up to him. What do you think is the truth behind Misha?
