After recent updates were received negatively by the community, EA is now hoping to make up for it by releasing an "Original Royale" mode, which takes us back to the game as it was in Season 1.
In recent months, EA and Respawn have been criticized by the Apex community. Many are dissatisfied with the latest innovations, bug fixes and decisions made by the developers.

On X, many players have been complaining about the focus on pro play when it comes to balancing. According to them, only feedback from the pro-player community is taken into account, and their suggestions are not helpful for casual players.

But what can EA do to satisfy everybody? Well, one idea is to play on nostalgia.
What can you expect in Original Royale?
The developers of Apex Legends are returning to the beginnings of 2019 with the new Original Royale mode. You play exclusively on the classic Kings Canyon map and can nostalgically explore the familiar locations of yesteryear.
All original characters, weapons and ammo types are available, and zone damage is the same as the old standard. EA has endeavored to create an authentic retro atmosphere.
In addition to the new Original Royale mode, Season 23 of Apex Legends also brings major changes to the normal modes, especially for the character Lifeline.
She receives new abilities: a passive ability to glide and an improved healing drone that now also heals on the move. Her ultimate places a protective shield around the team, with a weak spot from above. And other support characters have also been adjusted to make their role more effective.
Whether EA can inspire its Apex community in the same way as Fortnite with its “OG” version remains to be seen. What do you think of Season 23 so far? Let us know whether you like the new features or not!
