GodLike Esports’ Jelly has left his role as in-game leader for BGMI, and Punkk will now lead the team in upcoming matches.
Soon after the ending of BGMS Season 3 Opening Week, GodLike Esports announced that Gunjan “Jelly” Thakur has stepped down as the in-game leader (IGL) for GodLike Esports’ Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) team. Punkk will now take over as the new team leader and this change will affect how the team plays and plans their strategy.

Jelly joined GodLike Esports in November 2023, bringing a lot of experience from his time with OR Esports. He was known for his great strategy and leadership, becoming an important part of the team’s BGMI lineup.

While Jelly was the team leader, he guided GodLike Esports through many big tournaments. They did well, including finishing sixth at the Skyesports Championship 5.0 and eighth at the Upthrust BGMI Diwali Battle Finale. However, the team struggled to keep up with top performances consistently. And this could be one of the reasons for Jelly to step down from the IGL's position.

Punk is the new IGL for BGMI’s GodLike
Following Jelly’s departure from the IGL role, Punk has taken over the leadership responsibilities.
Ashutosh “Punkk” Singh, also known as Punk, is a well-known player in Indian esports. He joined GodLike Esports in July 2024, right before the BGMI Masters Series Season 3.
