This midseason update introduces new multiplayer maps, six additional weapons, and an exciting Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) crossover event. Additionally, the patch includes weapon balancing, bug fixes for Zombies mode, and a variety of quality-of-life improvements in Warzone.

Below, we break down the key highlights of Season 2 Reloaded.

New Content and Features

Two New Multiplayer Maps

Players will have fresh battlegrounds to explore with the addition of two new multiplayer maps, offering new tactical opportunities and gameplay dynamics.

  • Grind Ooze (6v6): The fan-favorite map first released in Call of Duty: Black Ops II returns for Black Ops 6 in the mid-season! Show off your best combat moves in the outdoor Half Pipe and Cradle or take your chances inside as Operators trade shots around the Store and across the indoor skate ramps, with TMNT decals, posters, and artwork spread across the scenery.
  • Bullet (6v6/2v2): Sev and Rogue Team deploy to a high-speed bullet train to neutralize a key enemy target. Keep your eyes sharp when moving up and sweeping the carriages; the automatic sliding doors may reveal an incoming enemy at a moment’s notice. Climb up to the roof of the train to feel the whipping wind and marvel at the landscape flying by. Be ready to defend your spot up top and then drop back down behind the enemy line.

Six New Weapons, Including TMNT Melee Weapons

Season 2 Reloaded introduces six new weapons, five of which are melee weapons - including the themed TMNT weapons. These weapons will allow players to battle in true ninja fashion, adding an exciting layer to melee combat.

Melee Weapons:

  • Bo Staff (Armory or Bundle Blueprint Unlock) - One-hit elimination. Slow attack speed. Very long range.
  • Katanas (Armory or Bundle Blueprint Unlock) - One-hit elimination. Moderately fast attack speed. Short range.
  • Sai (Armory or Bundle Blueprint Unlock) - One-hit elimination. Fast attack speed. Very short range.
  • Nunchaku (Armory or Bundle Blueprint Unlock) - Two-hit elimination. Very fast attack speed. Medium range.
  • Skateboard (Event Reward) - One-hit elimination. Moderately fast attack speed. Moderately long range.

Secondary Weapon:

  • D1.3 Sector (Event Reward) - Rechambering blade launcher. Equip different magazines to access a variety of deadly projectile types.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Crossover Event

The TMNT crossover event brings exclusive skins, weapons, and themed challenges to the game. Fans can equip Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello, and Raphael-inspired gear while taking on unique in-game missions.

Weapon Balancing for Multiplayer and Zombies

GPR 91 Assault Rifle Buff

The GPR 91 receives a buff to improve its range and handling:

  • Maximum damage range increased from 17.8m → 22.2m
  • CHF Barrel and Rapid Fire attachments adjusted to improve recoil control

Feng 82 LMG Buffs

The Feng 82 light machine gun has been reworked to encourage a more aggressive play style. Key improvements include:

  • Pre-fire delay reduced from 55ms → 25ms
  • Slide-to-fire speed improved from 410ms → 380ms
  • Dive-to-fire speed improved from 490ms → 460ms
  • Aim down sight (ADS) speed improved from 400ms → 370ms
  • Overall movement speed slightly increased

Melee Combat Enhancements

Given the large number of melee weapons introduced in this update, Treyarch has adjusted melee lunge distances for select weapons. These tweaks focus on two-hit kill melee weapons to better balance attack speed, lunge distance, and overall effectiveness. The developers noted that they aim to keep movement speed consistent while adjusting attack mechanics to make melee weapons more viable.

Multiplayer Spawn Adjustments

Team Deathmatch Spawns

  • Reduced frequency of early spawn flips
  • Players will no longer immediately spawn behind aggressive opponents

Domination Spawns

  • Adjusted logic to reduce "zone ownership stickiness"
  • Players will still spawn near owned zones, but with more flexibility for safe respawns

Zombies Mode Improvements

Fixes for "The Tomb" Map

  • Fixed storyline quest progression issues
  • Addressed a bug where Shock Mimics could push players out of bounds

Citadelle des Morts Map Fixes

Warzone Changes and Quality-of-Life Updates

One of the most anticipated changes has been cancelled last minute, due to negative feedback:

However, there are still a few noteworthy adjustments:

New Stamina Bar

  • Displays remaining Tactical Sprint energy for better movement management

Improved Killfeed Visibility and Killcam Delay

  • Better visibility of in-game events
  • Killcams now have a slight delay to reduce instant respawns

Weapon Buy Station Improvements

  • Trades now only downgrade weapons by one rarity tier (instead of two)
  • Trade interaction time significantly reduced (e.g., Legendary trade now takes 1.75s instead of 5s)
  • Fire Sale trades offer improved rewards

Should you want more precise information on any of the changes, feel free to check out the official patch notes for both Black Ops 6 and Warzone.
