The first round matchups for the Elimination Stage of the CS2 Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024 have been confirmed, following the conclusion of the Opening Stage yesterday.
With eight teams advancing through the initial rounds and eight top-seeded teams from the RMRs entering the competition, the stage is set for a high-stakes battle as teams vie for a coveted spot in the playoffs
The opening matches of the Elimination Stage are set!
The Elimination Stage begins on Thursday, December 5, at 4 AM CET with a round of best-of-one matches. The same day will also feature the 1-0 and 0-1 games. Here's a detailed look at the advancing teams and the first-round matchups.
Teams Advancing to the Elimination Stage
Eight teams emerged from the Opening Stage to join the top-seeded powerhouses in the next round:

The initial BO1 matchups of the Elimination Stage
As dictated by the seeding format, RMR top seeds will face top performers from the Opening Stage. This has produced an exciting lineup of opening clashes, including a tantalizing European RMR-B-rematch between BIG Clan and HEROIC, and several heavyweight face-offs. The Asian crowd will look to cheer on The MongolZ, versus heavy favorites G2, in hope of an unlikely upset.

The format for this stage mirrors the Opening Stage. Best-of-ones will be played in the initial rounds (including the 1-0 and 0-1 pools). Best-of-threes will then decide elimination and advancement matches. At the conclusion of the Elimination Stage, the top eight teams will secure spots in the playoffs, while the remaining eight teams will bid farewell to the Major.
The Elimination Stage will run from December 5 until December 8, with the playoffs scheduled to kick off on December 12. The grand final will eventually take place on Sunday, December 15.
