MOONTON Games and realme have launched two new initiatives to celebrate esports journalism and content creation during the M7 World Championship in Indonesia.
As the MLBB M7 World Championship unfolds in Indonesia from January 3 to 25, 2026, MOONTON Games and realme are spotlighting the media professionals who help bring the excitement of esports to fans worldwide. Two new initiatives, the MLBB M7 Media Championship (MMC) and the M7 Awards for Best Media, are being launched to honour the work of journalists, content creators, and media teams who shape the narrative around MLBB esports.
MLBB M7 Media Championship: A Tournament for Media
The M7 is set to be the biggest M Series event to date, taking place in Indonesia for the first time since M4. And the MLBB M7 Media Championship is a unique onsite tournament where up to eight media teams will compete during the M7 Knockout Stage. The event allows journalists and creators to experience the competitive and technological foundations of MLBB esports firsthand.
Teams will battle through elimination rounds and the Grand Finals, with the champions receiving five realme smartphones and the largest share of a 270,000 Diamond prize pool. The inaugural MMC was held during the M6 World Championship, where Malaysia’s WTM Today emerged as the first champions.
M7 Awards for Best Media: Celebrating Storytelling
Complementing the tournament, MOONTON Games and realme have launched the M7 Awards for Best Media, recognising outstanding journalism and content creation in the MLBB community. The awards are divided into three categories:
- Trendspotter Award by realme: For journalists or publications producing the most engaging and timely stories about MLBB and M7.
- Best in Esports Business Journalism Award by realme: For reporting on the business side of esports, including partnerships, innovation, and market trends.
- Outstanding Feature Award by realme: For excellence in long-form storytelling and impactful editorial coverage centered on MLBB and the M7 season.
Winners in each category will receive a certificate of recognition, 50,000 Diamonds, and a new realme smartphone, empowering them to continue creating high-quality esports content.
Reflecting on the initiative, Adrian Cher stated: “Esports thrives because of the people who tell its stories. The M7 Awards celebrate those writers and creators who define MLBB’s legacy through their words and coverage. With realme’s support, we aim to uplift the voices shaping the future of our community.”
Well, the partnership between MOONTON Games and realme highlights the growing intersection of technology and esports. And, by showcasing media representation within the competitive landscape, these events aim to foster a deeper appreciation for the role of journalism in esports, further enhancing the overall experience for fans and participants alike.
