Alien: Isolation is now a ten-year-old game, and to be frank, we didn't expect to ever get a sequel. But thankfully, Alien: Isolation 2 (or whatever it will be called) is now in development.
Alien: Isolation was a great survival horror game. Released in 2014 by Creative Assembly, it captured the claustrophobic terror of Ridley Scott's Alien (1979) by immersing players in a terrifying game of cat-and-mouse with a near-unstoppable Xenomorph. And unlike many other horror games that rely on combat, Alien: Isolation shifted the focus to stealth and survival, with limited resources and a strong emphasis on evasion.
The game celebrated its tenth anniversary on October 7, 2024, and the devs chose to celebrate by confirming the sequel!
Alien: Isolation 2
In a post on X/Twitter, the devs behind Alien: Isolation announced that they were working on a sequel:
On the 10th anniversary, it seems only fitting to let you know that we have heard your distress calls loud and clear.Today, I’m delighted to confirm, on behalf of the team, that a sequel to Alien: Isolation is in early development. We look forward to sharing more details with you when we’re ready.Once again, thank you.
At this point, that is all we know about the sequel; it exists. But, as with every game, we're confident the leaks will start soon, so stay tuned!
Are you excited about a new Alien: Isolation? Do you think the first game was good enough to "deserve" a follow-up?
