If you liked Wuthering Waves or have been a fan of Arknights for a while now, you are sure to be excited about the newest announcements regarding Arknights: Endfield.
Arknights is a wildly popular game with over 40 million downloads worldwide. So it's no surprise that Hyperglyth would want to expand on their passion project's universe. And it looks like that's exactly what they're doing now!
What is Arknights: Endfield?
Arknights: Endfield is a spin-off to the original Arknights title developed by Hyperglyth and published by Yostar in 2019.
So far, the game is still in its testing phases and has only received a handful of official trailers and demos on its official YouTube channel of the same name. There has been a bit of silence for the past three months, however.
But, to everyone's surprise, two new videos were just posted in the past two days. First of all, we got a trailer for the first open beta testing phase, giving us some more insights into the characters and the story.
And secondly, we got a 15 minute long gameplay demo, showcasing the world, combat, characters, and more!
In the demo, we learn a bunch of things about the gameplay mechanics and general feel of the experience.
The graphics, for example, are stellar! The lighting effects and textures are simply gorgeous, and the level design doesn't miss either. It's hard to even put into words, so it's best that you just go and watch the video yourselves!
Mechanically, many things seem similar to other large open-world RPGs like Wuthering Waves and Genshin Impact.
You run around (though I did not see any jumping, but perhaps they just forgot to include it), fight enemies, interact with NPCs, and so forth.
Of course, the gacha aspect cannot be missing from a game like this, but there is something unique about how the characters interact with the world.
Instead of being able to switch between your units like in, say, Wuthering Waves, your team actually follows your protagonist around. They assist you in combat and even help out in puzzles or farming, while not losing their charme.
Another unique mechanic is the building! You can construct different technological machinery in the open world to assist you with whatever you're doing – be it turrets for helping you kill enemies or zip lines for fast travel.
The soundtrack, too, seems really calming in the exploration areas. My personal favorite being the track that plays in the bamboo forest at the 7 minute mark of the demo.
All in all, Arknights: Endfield looks absolutely amazing and I encourage you to sign up for the beta test if you're interested in it! Or you can just follow their YouTube channel or other socials to stay updated.
Of course, we will keep you updated on the game as well, but who knows when we'll get another cool demo like this one?
How do you feel about Arknights: Endfield? Will you be playing it? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments!
