Ready to chomp? Krispy Kreme is leveling up its menu in honor of Pac-Man’s 45th anniversary, and the results are as sweet as a high score. Teaming up with Bandai Namco, the beloved donut chain has launched a limited-edition collection that brings the arcade classic to life.
Whether you're a retro gaming fan or just here for the sugar rush, this collab is a mouthwatering way to celebrate the yellow icon who’s been gobbling ghosts (and now, maybe donuts) since 1980.
A Sweet Tribute to an Arcade Icon
The donut line officially launched on May 12, 2025, and will be available only until June 1, 2025, so time (and supply) is limited. Can’t make it to a store? A special six-pack box is also available at Walmart, Kroger, Publix, and other U.S. retailers.
But before you race to your nearest Krispy Kreme, there's a catch: the collection is available only in select U.S. and Japan Krispy Kreme stores. Sorry, Europe – this one’s not making it across the pond.
What’s Available?
The Pac-Man-inspired lineup includes three custom donuts, each themed around the game’s beloved characters and power-ups:
- PAC-MAN Party Doughnut: A cheerful original glazed doughnut with buttercream icing and vibrant sprinkles – a true party in your mouth.
- Strawberry Power Berry Doughnut: A tart, strawberry cream-filled shell doughnut with strawberry icing, cream details, and colorful sugar sprinkles.
- Team Ghost Doughnut: An unglazed shell filled with rich chocolate cream, topped with vanilla custard illustrations of the classic ghosts.
Each donut is available individually, or in packs of three or six, and they come in limited-edition boxes decorated with Pac-Man art.
Plus, each six-pack set includes a sticker, and lucky fans might find a secret mark that earns them a free donut – think of it as a sugar-fueled loot box.
Cool Gimmicks: From “Pac-Dots” to Price Deals
Between May 12 and May 14, Krispy Kreme is renaming its mini donut holes, Doughnut Dots, to Pac-Dots, a nod to the game’s iconic pellets. Buy a dozen donuts, and you’ll get 10 free Pac-Dots to go with them.
- Between May 12 and May 18, Krispy Kreme is giving away a whopping 45,000 free donuts during special time slots (7–9 a.m. and 5–7 p.m., or whenever your local shop turns on the iconic “Hot Light”). If customers help "chomp" through the 45,000 goal, the fan-favorite Strawberry Glazed Donut, which was previously retired, will make a triumphant return to stores.
- On May 22, Pac-Man’s actual birthday, donuts will be sold for just 25 cents apiece – yes, you read that right. If you miss the giveaway window, you can still grab the donuts at regular price in-store, online, or via the Krispy Kreme app.
