Here is everything that is confirmed so far about the upcoming DLC.
With the launch of Civilization 7, there's also a lot of additional content coming. We gathered everything that is known so far.
Almost eight years after the release of Civ 6, the newest installment of the turn-based single player strategy game series Sid Meier’s Civilization 7 drops on February 11. And while fans can’t wait to finally get their hands on the game, starting to build an empire, there’s already plenty of DLC on the horizon.
Since it's usual for the franchise to release huge expansion packs and DLC even years after launch, fans have already speculated that Civ 7 will receive a lot of additional content as well – and the now revealed roadmap of what to expect post-launch shows that they were absolutely right.
Firaxis Games announced the upcoming content in a “Dev Diary” post, stating that there will be a lot more throughout 2025 that will keep players busy even after finishing the main game.
So, here is everything you need to know that will expand the world of Civilization 7.
Crossroads of the World – The First Paid Expansion
With the launch of Civilization 7, the game will contain three different historical ages to build and develop an empire within.
Each will feature a historically accurate sandbox with fitting resources, powers, and technologies representing the specific era.
The first paid expansion that will add even more to the game, named "Crossroads on the World", is split in two installments with the first one arriving in the beginning and the second one at the end of March.
Crossroads of the World Release 1:
- Leader Ada Lovelace
- New Civilizations Carthage and Great Britain
- 4 New Natural Wonders
Crossroads of the World Release 2:
- Leader Simon Bolivar
- New Civilizations Bulgaria and Nepal
Right to Rule – The Second Paid Expansion
The second paid expansion will be an all-in-one featuring even more new content. However, the full details are still to be announced, but will feature:
- 2 New Leaders
- 4 New Civilizations
- 4 New World Wonders
Free Content After The Launch
While both expansions have to be bought, there’s also a lot of free content dropping post-launch of the game with new events and updates. Here is everything the road map for free additions contains so far.
March:
- New Events: Natural Wonder Battle, Marvelous Mountains
- New Natural Wonders: Bermuda Triangle, Mount Everest
- Updates
April – September:
- New Events
- New Challenges
- Updates
There is also more content supposed to launch in October without any more information about it so far, but we’re sure, the developers will keep players busy until October when the for now last free expansion for Civ 7 will be released.
