The Call of Duty community is buzzing with new rumors about Warzone’s next big map, as leaks suggest that plans might be shifting and could potentially impact future content. While nothing has been officially confirmed, speculation is running wild among fans, raising questions about whether this could mean a major change for the game’s direction. Here’s everything you need to know about the latest Call of Duty news.

Warzone’s Future: Big Changes Ahead

Rumors suggest that the highly anticipated Avalon map might not make it to Warzone as originally planned. Instead, leaks from TheGhostOfHope indicate that Activision could be shifting focus to bring back Verdansk, a fan-favorite battleground. This unexpected change has sparked debate within the community, with some excited for nostalgia while others hoped for fresh content. If true, this could mark a major shift in how Warzone evolves in the coming years. Damn, this level of miscommunication within the same company is on par with the Disney Star Wars sequels.

Although Avalon was expected to launch in late 2025, TheGhostOfHope claims it might be repurposed for Zombies mode instead. This wouldn’t be the first time a Warzone map found new life in another game mode, as seen with Urzikstan in MW3 Zombies. Whether Avalon is delayed or scrapped entirely remains uncertain. Until Activision confirms its plans, players can only speculate about what’s next.

I would say this would make a huge map for a zombie mode, but then again, I never actually measured the zombie maps, as I was too busy reviving that one friend who never buys open doors and always wants to be revived because he has a railgun. Yes, we must have the same friend.

Verdansk’s Return: What to Expect

Bringing back Verdansk would be a major move, as it remains one of the most iconic maps in Warzone history. If TheGhostOfHope's leaks are accurate, its return could be accompanied by classic weapons, operators, and features from its original version. However, it’s unclear whether Verdansk will be a full remaster or include significant changes to fit modern gameplay. Black Ops being published by Activision is a good sign for a rework; if this were EA, we’d probably have to pay real-life money to buy a ticket for the train.

Fans are eager for more details, but Activision has yet to make an official statement. Given how past map updates have been handled, Verdansk’s comeback might not happen exactly as players remember. Whether it’s a faithful recreation or a modified version, its return will undoubtedly shape the future of Warzone.
