Here is everything you need to know about the upcoming season of Diablo 4.
Following Season 6 and the Vessel of Hatred expansion, Diablo 4’s Season 7 is right around the corner.
Since Season 7 will be the first season to be released post-DLC, it will be different than anything before. As revealed by Blizzard, “The Season of Witchcraft” will start on January 21 and feature a bunch of new stuff, including 25 new abilities and even a new raven pet.
The Coven Of Hawezar
A bunch of new characters that will come with this season is this group of witches with questionable motives. The Coven of Hawezar are the protectors of the ominous Tree of Whispers. The mysterious plant-based creature that collects captive heads has gone rogue – and the Coven isn’t quite happy about it. Help them and you might learn some handy witchcraft from them.
Starting The Main Quest Of Season 7
Head to Gea Kul and speak with Gelena to meet the Coven of Hawezar. By completing the seasonal quests you will reveal the secrets behind the missing heads and unlock said magic abilities.
Powerful Witchcraft
There are three different schools of witchcraft:
- Eldritch: Channel raw destruction, with fire, shadow, and explosions galore.
- Psyche: Mess with your enemies’ heads while buffing yourself.
- Growth & Decay: A delightful mix of life-giving and life-draining magic.
When you complete Whisper bounties and defeat the “headrotten enemies”, you will earn “restless rot” that can be used to:
- Unlock Witchcraft Powers at the Witches’ Altars.
- Upgrade your powers and turn them into devastating tools of destruction.
The Tree of Whispers Is Back
With the reappearing of the Tree of Whisper, there are new tasks and options you have. During the season you will:
- Hunt rogue Heads in Headhunt zones – creepy areas filled with Headrotten enemies.
- Return the Heads to the Tree for juicy rewards like Ancestral Collections.
- Look out for Rootholds, seasonal dungeons with extra challenges and rewards.
New Occult Gems And The Power To Cheat Death
To gain even more witchcraft, you can craft occult gems out of materials like headrotten or fugitive heads. Gelena will help you to create these magical objects that might have special effects like:
- Wicked Pact: Boosts your Eldritch Powers’ potency by 25%.
- Vulture Talon: Makes your damage-over-time effects 35% faster.
- Vile Phylactery: Saves you from fatal damage, at the cost of disabling certain Witchcraft Powers temporarily.
Eternal Updates
Next to the seasonal updates for “The Season of Witchcraft” there are even more changes in the game, made by Blizzard to make it easier for you. These changes include:
- Armory: Save, load, and swap builds effortlessly in town. It’s character-bound, with five loadout slots per character.
- Welcome Back Booster: Instantly level a character to 50 with pre-set skills and gear.
- Class Mechanics: Finish a class-specific mechanic quest once, and it’s unlocked account-wide for all characters of that class.
If you are more interested in rare drops, this is your chance to find:
- New and updated Runes for Vessel of Hatred.
- Improved unique items with minimum rolls on powers tied to their Greater Affixes.
- New Legendary Aspects and Uniques for every class, including the Spiritborn.
That – plus the fact, that you can a pet raven now – is everything you need to know to start Season 7 of Diablo 4 when it starts on January 21.
