Finally, Musk addressed the accusations and admitted to using unconventional methods, including cheating, in Diablo 4 and Path of Exile 2.
Elon Musk’s gaming abilities have long been a topic of debate among fans, especially regarding his impressive claims in games like Path of Exile 2 and Diablo 4.
While some were skeptical about the validity of his in-game achievements, Musk has now confirmed that his accounts were indeed boosted. The Tesla CEO openly admitted to using account-sharing and purchasing in-game items with real money to enhance his performance, bringing an end to the ongoing speculation.
Musk's Admission: "Everyone Does It"
In a video published by YouTuber NikoWrex, he showed a recent exchange with Musk via X DMs, where Musk was asked if he had ever used methods like account-boosting or real-money transactions to level up in Path of Exile 2 and Diablo 4. Musk replied with a simple "100" emoji, affirming that such tactics were commonplace and crucial to compete with players in Asia, stating, "It's impossible to beat players in Asia if you don't.".

He further clarified that while he may have used boosting techniques, any time he streamed or appeared in the games, it was always him playing. Musk’s bold response also included a refusal to apologize, stating, “What would I be apologizing for?” Being the richest man on Earth, one might expect him to have a more prominent figure to explain the situation and defend him in public – yet he chose the 3,000-subscriber channel NikoWrex.
Backlash Follows Controversy in Gaming
The reaction among fans has been almost unanimous: they consider Musk's confession to be pathetic and a clear display of his inflated ego. People further pointed out that it was more than obvious Musk wasn’t as skilled as he claimed, especially after he exposed his lack of basic game knowledge during a live stream. Fans highlighted moments where he made rookie mistakes, reinforcing the sentiment that his achievements might have been overstated all along.
As if that wasn’t enough, Musk also leaked his DMs with the YouTuber Asmongold, who was one of the first to doubt Musk’s gaming skills, claiming his achievements were built on lies. But Musk countered the accusation in a tweet with a genius rhetorical tactic that kids refer to as mirror, by stating that Asmongold is "NOT good at video games". After all this, we ask ourselves: shouldn’t Elon Musk be busy enough with his worldwide support of right-wing par… you know what, Elon? We think it’s okay to boost – just keep playing.
