While there is still no sign of life or any news about new Bloodborne content, some players have resorted to creating content of their own. This mod is bringing in a fresh wind without adding too much.

Bloodborne is still widely regarded as one of FromSoftware's finest works. The game fused Lovecraft horror with the dark souls formula and added a faster paced, more aggressive approach to the gameplay. This worked so well, that even 10 years later, the city Yharnam just won't loosen its grip on the players. But they also know the whole game by heart and eagerly wait for something new. This is where mods come in.
Modding in Bloodborne is interesting for a few reasons. One would be the accessibility of those mods, since you can only download and play mods on a modded PS4 or on an emulated copy of the game on PC. The other reason would be, that the community doesn't go above and beyond in terms of changing the game and only seeks to enhance the experience at hand – not create a completely new one.
Bloodborne: The New Nightmare
This mod is aiming to do exactly what fans want. It adds enough to give the players a slightly different and new experience, while not going overboard with it. For example, it increases the number of enemies and adds in a lot more NPC hunters – both friendly and hostile. It also tweaks a lot of the mechanics of the game, like late game weapons and loot being accessible early in the game.
Since the mod's goal is to be more of a challenge, the players will probably need the strong weapons early on. The content of Bloodborne: The New Nightmare doesn't seem like much, but at least it comes with enough changes, so that players will have a slightly different experience. Maybe it will help to bridge the gap, while they keep waiting for a sequel or at least a PC port.
Sony Needs To Wake Up
Hidetaka Miyazaki – the director of FromSoftware – has previously stated that he would love to revisit Bloodborne, but it's not in his hands. Sony seems to stand in the way of any new Bloodborne content, since they own the IP and thus it's their decision to make. Bloodborne celebrated its 10th anniversary this year and with the demand for any news at an all-time high, it eludes me why Sony keeps starving the IP.
