What Is FragPunk?
FragPunk is a new team-based hero shooter from Bad Guitar Studios that was released on Steam in March. The game stands out from the crowd with its wacky art style and unique game mechanics that fans love. FragPunk will also be released for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on April 29, 2025 – and that's also when the cross-play feature will be available.
How Does Crossplay Work In FragPunk?
Crossplay means that players on different platforms – means PC, PlayStation and Xbox – can play together or against each other. In FragPunk, crossplay is activated by default as soon as you start the game. This means that you are automatically matched with players from the entire network, regardless of whether they are on console or PC. You can also deactivate this feature. This is particularly useful if you are playing on the console and don't feel like playing against players with a mouse and keyboard.
What About Fairness?
Players are already concerned about how crossplay will affect the ranked ladder. FragPunk on console features Aim Assist: a setting that should give you a helping hand in aiming with the controller. In return, PC players feel disadvantaged, as a certain degree of precision is required there. The developer has already responded to player criticism:
“We hear you on the crossplay and aim assist concerns. Balancing input devices across competitive play is crucial for fairness.
To address this, we are exploring ways to set independent parameters for aim assist when PC and console players compete. In certain modes, crossplay may no longer be supported to ensure fairness and a balanced experience for players on different devices.”
