XDefiant is massively struggling with player numbers. Now, Ubisoft have given the game a deadline: Make it work in Season 3, or they pull the plug.
The Hype is over for XDefiant. Now the game supposedly has one season left to improve the numbers.
From 8 Million To 20,000
Insider Gaming reported, Ubisoft is not happy about the downfall of XDefiant's player base. At the beginning, Ubisoft claims, that XDefiant had around 8 million players. One reason for the great success was the matchmaking, which did not include skill-based matchmaking.
A few months after its release, a source at Ubisoft told Insider Gaming that the game is now struggling to reach 20,000 current players.
Season 3 Is The Last Chance
Now Ubisoft is apparently giving the game one last season before they effectively kill it. What exactly happens if it fails? Nobody knows, but probably more layoffs at Ubisoft. The insider source who spoke to Insider Gaming is apparently pessimistic.
What will surely this even harder for XDefiant is the launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 in October. We know which horse we would bet on...
Do you still play Ubisoft's arcade shooter, or do you think the game is dead?
