An ex-Rockstar employee stated that a delay of GTA 6's release date is still very much on the cards.
GTA 6 is probably the most anticipated game in history to date. The release of the game's first trailer, broke the internet, with millions of users excited that the long wait is finally coming to an end.

He explains:

Since GTA 6 looks incredibly large and full of complex character models and character behavior, it is definitely a hard project to develop. We don't know how far along, or how polished the game is by now, but I wouldn't put it past the developers to say, they're not ready yet.
For now, these are only speculations and time will tell whether we see GTA 6 released in Fall 2025.
