After being closed down by Microsoft last year, Tango Gameworks Studio is back – with a few, slight changes.
After Krafton bought Hi-Fi Rush’s Tango Gameworks Studio, the developer is now back in action with a slightly different name and “a new start”.
In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter) Tango announced its comeback, a slight change in its name and a “new journey” for the studio. So it seems like Krafton is not only planning on continuing the Hi-Fi Rush game but the history of the studio as well.
In the post, Tango wrote:
Tango Gameworks studio has been reborn as Tango Gameworks Inc, proudly joining Krafton Inc. We're excited to continue crafting games that bring joy to players around the world. Thank you for your continued support as we embark on this new journey!

Tango is dead – long live Tango!
In August of 2024, it was already announced that Krafton would take over Tango, which came as a surprise for a lot of people since just a year before that Microsoft VP Aaron Greenberg called Hi-Fi Rush “a breakout hit for us and our players in all key measurements and expectations”.
Microsoft never gave a clear answer on why they decided to close down Tango and their quite successful games like Hi-Fi Rush, The Evil Within or Ghostwire: Tokyo. It’s highly possible that money might have been a big factor, then again, cutting off one of your prestige studios without even giving any details doesn’t do a lot for your credibility.
Since other IPs like The Evil Within or Ghostwire: Tokyo haven't been part of Krafton's deal, it's not clear if there will be any other games in the near future of Tango, so it seems like we have to wait for the next announcement.
What would you like Tango Gameworks Inc to work on next? Are you excited for a possible Hi-Fi Rush 2?
