Here's a closer look at Fugue's kit and a potential way to build her, when she comes out.

Fugue is Honkai: Star Rail's next upcoming character, who will be released in just a few days on December 25.

She will be a 5-star Fire Nihility unit focused on reducing enemy Toughness (regardless of Weakness Type) and buffing Break and Superbreak DMG. Here's a deeper look into her kit.

Fugue's Kit

HoYoverse has officially shared almost the entirety of Fugue's kit on HoYoLAB, though some details are still missing. Here's what they shared.

Traces

Verdantua Renaissance

Additionally delays the enemy target's action when allies Break enemy Weaknesses.

Sylvan Enigma

Increases this unit's Break Effect. After using Skill for the first time, immediately recovers Skill Points.

Phecda Primordia

When an enemy target's Weakness gets broken, increases teammates' (i.e., excluding this unit) Break Effect.

If Fugue's Break Effect increase is a certain value or higher, the Break Effect increase is boosted by an additional percentage, lasting for a number of turns. This effect can stack up to several times.

Skills

Technique: Percipient Shrine

After using Technique, inflicts Daze on enemies within a certain area, lasting for a duration of time. While Dazed, enemies will not actively attack ally targets.

After entering battle via actively attacked Dazed enemies, Fugue's action advances, with a chance to inflict each enemy target with the same DEF Reduction state as that applied by Fugue's Skill, lasting for a number of turns.

Basic Attack: Radiant Streak

Deals Fire DMG to a single enemy.

Enhanced Basic Attack: Fiery Caress

Deals Fire DMG to one designated enemy and a certain amount of Fire DMG to adjacent targets.

Talent: Fortune Follows Where Virtue Spreads

While Fugue is on the field, enemy targets will get additionally afflicted with "Cloudflame Luster," equal to a certain percentage of their Max Toughness.

When the initial Toughness is reduced to 0, "Cloudflame Luster" can further be reduced. When "Cloudflame Luster" is reduced to 0, the enemy will receive Weakness Break DMG again.

While Fugue is on the field and after allies attack Weakness Broken enemy targets, converts Toughness Reduction of this attack into 1 instance of Super Break DMG of a certain percentage.

Skill: Virtue Beckons Bliss

Grants one designated ally "Foxian Prayer". Enters the "Torrid Scourch" state, lasting for a number of turns.

The duration reduces by 1 at the start of Fugue's every turn. "Foxian Prayer" only takes effect on the most recent target of Fugue's Skill.

The ally target with "Foxian Prayer" increases their Break Effect and can also reduce Toughness even when attacking enemies that don't have the corresponding Weakness Type, with the effect equivalent to a certain percentage of the original Toughness Reduction value.

This cannot stack with other Toughness Reduction effects that also ignore Weakness Type. While in the "Torrid Scorch" state, Fugue enhances her Basic ATK.

Every time an ally target with "Foxian Prayer" attacks, Fugue has a certain chance to reduce the attacked enemy target's DEF, lasting for a number of turns.

Ultimate: Solar Splendor Shines Upon All

Deals Fire DMG to all enemies. This attack ignores Weakness Type to reduce all enemies' Toughness. And when breaking Weakness, triggers the Fire Weakness Break effect.

How to level up and build Fugue

Here's a very quick rundown of all the materials you will need for Fugue, for all you committed pre-farmers.

Lightcones

Her signature "Long Road Leads Home" will be her best Lightcone, but you can also use the 5-star Lightcone "Solitary Healing" from the Shop.

4-star options are "Resolution Shines As Pearls of Sweat", the one displaying Luka in the ring, or "Fermata," the one displaying Kafka in the bathtub.

Relics

Her best Cavern Relic set will be "Iron Cavalry Against the Scourge", but you can also use "Thief of Shooting Meteor" should you not have a complete set of Iron Cavalry yet.

Fugue's best Planar Ornament set will be "Forge of the Kalpagni Lantern", but you can also use "Talia: Kingdom of Banditry" should you not have a complete set of Kalpagni Lantern yet.

Teams

Fugue serves as a better replacement for the Harmony Trailblazer, though she can also be used alongside them. Thus, Fugue is a Break and Superbreak focused unit, but she can also be used in DOT teams.

For Break teams, her best team members are Firefly, Boothill, or Rappa as the Main DPS, Ruan Mei or Harmony Trailblazer as the second Supporter, and Lingsha or Gallagher as the sustain.

Good 4-star alternatives are Hunt March 7th, Sushang, Xueyi, and Serval.

In DOT teams, obviously the best team members are the typical few. Kafka as the Main DPS, Black Swan as the second Supporter, and Huo Huo as a Sustain unit. Good 4-star options for DOT teams are Luka, Guinaifen, and Sampo.

If you have neither a Break or DOT team but still plan on pulling Fugue regardless, worry not. Her Toughness reduction still has her use for other teams, but she will not be as effective as in her designated teams.

If you're like me and are thinking about maybe putting her together with Feixiao because you don't have any other good Supporters for her, do keep in mind that Fugue's "ignoring Weakness Type" does not stack with other similar abilities.

And that's about everything we have on Fugue's kit, at least officially.

Many leaks do go into detail with the percentages and numbers, but since it's just a few days left until her banner, let's just wait and see what the official release brings us!

Until then, farewell benefactors!

What's your take on Fugue? Will you be pulling her or will you skip her for the upcoming Amphoreus characters? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments!
