What devious ideas have our favorite games come up with to deceive us on April 1?

It's April Fools' Day 2025, and various video game developers have some pranks in store for us - let's take a look at them!

Naraka: Bladepoint

Is this a dance-off, Super Mario or Infinity Nikki? The free-to-play wuxia action battle royale game by 24 Entertainment Naraka: Bladepoint jokingly announces that physical battles are outdated and outfit comparisons or dance competitions will now settle disagreements.

They follow this prank up with:

Happy April Fools' Day! New mode is a joke, but Telmuch's new outfit, [Twisted Delusion], is really available! Log in to #NARAKABLADEPOINT now to get the free Telmuch outfit! - Naraka: Bladepoint

Infinity Nikki

Speaking of outfit competitions, the free-to-play action-adventure game by Papergames Infinity Nikki has made an April Fools' joke as well - they advertise a 108% sale coupon but trying to claim it just gets you a notification to not click on unknown links (though we kinda wouldn't expect a verified game account to give us a virus).

Party Animals

Multiplayer physics-based brawler/party game by Recreate Games, Party Animals, announces a minigame that's a bit riskier than usual - Russian Roulette!

Of course, this is just a joke, but there actually is a new card game available.

PUBG: Battlegrounds

The battle royale game PUBG: Battlegrounds by Krafton's PUBG Studios says "Make love, not war" - at least on April 1, when they celebrate with a special game event called "Winner Winner Romantic Dinner", for anyone who prefers waifus over guns.

Dave the Diver

Dave the Diver, an action-adventure and management game by Mintrocket, has announced a remastered version.

Fans might need to be patient, though, because it's only coming in 2049.

But at least it's available on multiple consoles like LS7, Ybox Series X|L, and Swhich - hey, wait a minute...🤨

Goddess Of Victory: Nikke

Boobies have never been deadlier - or have you ever nuked anyone with yours?

We didn't think so; that's why Mecha Shifty is superior to humans.

At least according to the third-person shooter action role-playing game Goddess of Victory: Nikke, developed by Shift Up.

Fantasy Life

Did Nintendo mix up two of its games? No, it's just an April Fools' prank!

This fake trailer was published by the role-playing life simulation game series Fantasy Life, developed by Level-5.

While both games have a cute graphics style, the actual Fantasy Life is not an Animal Crossing clone, don't worry.

Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis

Final Fantasy is looking a little different these days...

With a fake announcement on their official website, role-playing game Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis, developed by Applibot and Square Enix, claims you'll soon be able to play a dating sim with Final Fantasy characters...a pretty romantic April Fools'.

What do you think about these April Fools' pranks?

Which one's your favorite?

Have you found any other pranks that we've overlooked?
