Licensed games are known to often lack quality. John Wick Hex, at least, felt unique in its more tactical approach instead of being a subpar action-shooter. Big Fan Games has announced that the game will be delisted this week. This means that you can still play the game if you already own it, but you will not be able to purchase it anymore.

What Is John Wick Hex?

Developed by Bithell Games and released in 2020, John Wick Hex is a turn-based strategy game a cell-shaded look. But instead of using turns to move and act in the game, you use time. The game tells you how much time every action takes with a timeline bar at the top. You can also see in a separate bar below what the enemy is planning and how many seconds each of their actions take. This way you can plan accordingly and outsmart your foes. If you take too long, the mission fails.

Upon the games release, it received mixed reviews. While there are many things to love about the game, there were also a few things to criticize it for – clunky animations and weird enemy behaviour, to name a few. Still, John Wick Hex has enough going for it to at least check it out (while you still can).

Did The License Expire?

The publisher Big Fan Games have not yet stated a reason for the game to be removed. Big Fan Games is known for publishing licensed games. It could very well be that the license to use the John Wick IP has run out and they did not renew it. Even though the execution isn't the best, the game is still fun in its best moments. And since this is currently the only official John Wick game on the market, it's definitely sad to see it go.
