Leaked LoL Champions are nothing new, but this time Riot Games themselves have revealed the newest addition to the roster, and it’s a familiar face.
Over 15 years ago, League of Legends was released. In video game years, this is almost ancient. But Riot Games have done a great job keeping players interested, not the least due to the constant additions of new Champions. And the next one should be especially popular...
Mel Medarda could be the next LoL Champion
With Milio, the Gentle Flame, Naafiri, the Hound of a Hundred Bites, Briar, the Unrestrained Hunger, and Hwei, the Visionary, the community got four new champions back in 2023. But, this year, there we've only had two so far: Smolder and Aurora. However, a third might soon be arriving in the game.
We've grown accustomed to new Champions beingleaked ahead of their official release. This time, however, Riot themselves has shown us what appears to be the next Champion: Mel Medarda.
In a recent survey sent out by Riot regarding Split 3, they revealed the Champion icon of Ambessa's daughter, Mel Medarda.
As soon as the icon was leaked to social media, fans began to speculate about her possible abilities and wondered if they will be inspired by the existing ones used as placeholders in her HUD.
Who is Mel Madarda?
Mel Medarda is a prominent character from Arcane. She is a powerful and influential member of the ruling council of Piltover, a city known for its technological advancements and strong political structure. Mel hails from the wealthy and noble Medarda family of Noxus, a region known for its militaristic and expansionist tendencies.Mel is portrayed as a cunning, ambitious, and strategic politician, playing a major role in shaping Piltover’s future, particularly in its development of Hextech, a technology that combines magic and science. Throughout the series, she forms a close and complex relationship with Jayce Talis, a brilliant inventor and one of the main characters. Their relationship is both professional and personal, and Mel often influences Jayce’s decisions with her sharp political acumen. Her backstory in Arcane reveals that Mel was exiled from her family in Noxus, where power struggles and military might dominate. Unlike her family, she favors diplomacy and peaceful negotiation over brute force, which causes friction between her and her mother, Ambessa Medarda, a general in the Noxian army.
As exciting as this is, don't bet the farm on anything just yet. Back when Silco was leaked as the new Champion, he got reworked into Renata Glasc mid-development. Only time will tell if Medarda really is going to be the next playable Champion.
What are your thoughts Mel Medarda, would you play this champ?
