Publisher Bushiroad Games and developer Headlock just announced their new visual novel VIRTUAL GIRL @ WORLD’S END for Switch and PC via Steam. So far, we only got the Japanese release date, being June 12 and the game will feature English, Japanese, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese language options.

A limited box will also be available, including a copy of the game, a special case for it, the original soundtrack CD, and... a body pillow cover of one of the main girls of the game.

The game is set in Tokyo in 2055, damaged by war, resource depletion and population declines. While humanity is just on the verge of its end, wandering towards the apocalypse, a group of girls in colorful outfits and styles host live streams to distract the rest of mankind from its unavoidable downfall.

This is the World of Ai and her friends from Vstar, who, no matter the darkness, will continue to sing until the end of days.

While also featuring character designs by Osamu Nobusawa, the cast consists of:

  • Ai (voiced by Azusa Tachibana)
  • Rinka / Rin Katase (voiced by Hina Tachibana)
  • Maki / Mai (voiced by Mei Tachibana)
  • Jami-tan (voiced by Aina Suzuki)
  • Yayoi (voiced by Fuuka Izumi)
  • Sakura (voiced by Mayu Mineda)
  • Haruka (voiced by Aguri Oonishi)
  • Informant (voiced by Naoya Uchida)
  • Scrap Dealer (voiced by Shuuta Morishima)
  • Resistance Leadership (voiced by Shuuta Morishima)

VIRTUAL GIRL @ WORLD’S END will be launched by Bushiroad Games and Headlock on June 12 in Japan for the Nintendo Switch and PC – while the worldwide release hasn't been announced yet.

Are you a fan of visual novels? Do you think it’s possible that even at the end of the world there will be hosts for live streams?
