Lonekite Games' VR title Mare has been announced to now be available for PlayStation VR2 via the PlayStation Store for $24.99.

What is Mare about?

In this unique puzzle adventure game, you awaken in a strange world and unfamiliar body — that of an artificial bird-like construct. Using this elevated perspective, you stumble upon a helpless, little girl, lost and all alone.

Together, you embark on a journey through the mysterious lands of "Mare", where you have to guide this newfound companion through tricky puzzles and creeping threats.

From the vibes and atmosphere alone, the game feels oddly similar to Team Ico's masterpiece The Last Guardian — with the unique difference being that now you act as the protector, not your companion.

In the game's description in the Steam shop, Lonekite Games have listed the following features:

  • Full Eye-Tracking only gameplay option available.
  • Explore the vast and strange landscapes from a viewpoint of a mechanical bird.
  • Guide and protect a vulnerable AI companion on her unexpected adventure.
  • Explore and discover the underlying narrative spanning over eight chapters.
  • Immerse yourself in the ambient atmosphere and otherworldly music for a soothing experience.
  • Search for lost artifacts hidden throughout the world in order to unlock the final secret of Mare.

The game was first published to SteamVR on March 31, 2022, then soon after it found its way to iOS, available there via the App Store ever since January 19, 2023.
