Season 2 of Marvel Rivals is just around the corner, and this time, the theme is all about the Hellfire Gala. The latest trailer gives us a first look at what’s coming: a new map and new characters, Emma Frost and Ultron, and of course a stylish, mutant-themed update inspired by the X-Men comics. It’s a clear step up from Season 1 — and fans are already curious to see how it all plays out when the season drops on April 11.
Emma Frost Joins The Fight
The biggest highlight of the trailer is the arrival of Emma Frost as a new playable character. She’ll take on the Vanguard role, combining psychic powers with defensive skills. Emma’s entrance fits perfectly with the season’s theme and adds another iconic mutant to the lineup.
Ultron Appears — But Not (Yet) Playable
Ultron makes an appearance in the Season 2 trailer, hinting at a bigger role in the upcoming storyline. However, he won’t be playable right away. Ultron is expected to join the roster in the mid-season update (Season 2.5), which is set to launch on May 23, 2025.
New Map, New Look
Season 2 also brings in a brand-new map, styled after the extravagant world of the Hellfire Gala. Details are still pretty limited, but from what we’ve seen, it looks like it’ll add an exciting, unique twist to the usual battlegrounds.
