The bug could be a hint towards a collab with Captain America 4: Brave New World.
Players of Marvel Rivals encountered a weird bug that changed all texts of the in-game shop into “The Power of Anger”, leaving the community wondering what this could mean.
Since the launch of Marvel Rivals last year, fans have uncovered a few bugs, like the one that affected players who ran the game at higher FPS.
The newest finding however is a glitch that doesn’t affect the game play itself, but might hint at a collaboration that could launch in a couple of weeks.
“The Power of Anger” hits Marvel Rivals shop
A user on Reddit shared a screenshot of the looks of Marvel Rivals' in-game shop, showing that every text beneath each character was changed to repeating the phrase “The Power of Anger”.
While it seemed like nobody else on the forum encountered the exact same glitch, others mentioned a similar one that turned all text into Chinese characters.
A possible Red Hulk skin?
A theory that might explain at least the meaning of the phrase “The Power of Anger” pointed out that with the next MCU title Captain America: Brave New World releasing in February, this could be the name of a future Hulk skin – a Red Hulk, to be more specific.
With the Red Hulk played by Harrison Ford having his debut on the big screen in the new Captain America movie, one person explained:
I’m going to hazard a guess and say we’re going to be getting a Red Hulk skin for the new Captain America movie. It’ll be called ‘The Power of Anger’ or something. For whatever reason, your game freaked out and plastered it everywhere.
As it was already confirmed by NetEase, at least one tie-in with the new movie will be featured in the game. A bundle that is supposed to reward moviegoers will include a mystery costume, spay and nameplate.
So far we don’t know if the bug is in any way really connected to Brave New World, but it seems more than likely that the phrase at least is based on new content featuring the Hulk.
