During the Halo World Championship, developer 343 surprised the crowd with a presentation in which they announced a rebranding for themselves and the Halo franchise, calling it "a new dawn".

Will Master Chief ever rule supreme again?

343 Industries is no more, they've rebranded themselves "Halo Studios", and their plan is to reboot the Halo franchise with multiple games. They're calling this ambitious effort"Project Foundry".

But don't get too excited just yet. They are still very much in the beginning, conceptual stages. And the only confirmed detail about the upcoming Halo games is that they will be made on Unreal Engine 5 (like most games these days).

In the presentation, studio head Pierre Hintze said:

Now, I think we have an audience which is hungry for more. So we’re not just going to try to improve the efficiency of development, but change the recipe of how we make Halo games. So, we start a new chapter today.

It's not clear what we can expect from the new chapter, but we would love to see Halo back on top, like the golden age of Halo 3.

Unfortunately, the announcement video didn't give us much more information about the upcoming games, but we await more news with anticipation.
