The newest game in the 40 year old franchise has quite some new stuff to offer.
The upcoming Carmen Sandiego game comes with an additional digital deluxe edition as well as a 40th Anniversary Edition.
As one of the top longest-running gaming series ever, Carmen Sandiego travels the world since 1985, stealing valuable treasures and artifacts. Her newest puzzle-adventure will launch for PlayStation 5, the Xbox Series X, the Nintendo Switch, PC and Netflix on April 17 – and there’s even a 40th Anniversary Edition, full of collectible goodies.
The new game – just called “Carmen Sandiego" – is the very first title in the franchise where players are getting to play Sandiego herself and will be available in a standard digital version, a digital deluxe version and a 40th Anniversary Edition – while only the latter is a physical version.
Carmen Sandiego – The Game
In the new game players are put in the role of Carmen Sandiego herself, who has given up her life of crime to work as a counter-thief, tracking down the operatives of V.I.L.E. all over the world. Utilizing gadgets like a hang-glider and grappling hook the game is based on the style and plot of the Netflix animated show.
Carmen Sandiego Digital Standard Edition
The standard edition of the game is only available digital and includes just the base game. For $30 you can get it in the Xbox Store, PlayStation Store, Switch eShop, and for PC via Steam.
Carmen Sandiego Digital Deluxe Edition
The digital deluxe version of Carmen Sandiego includes the base game and a bunch of digital upgrades. With this edition you will also get:

- Cosmetic Skin - Motorcycle outfit
- Digital Official Soundtrack
- Digital Official Art Book
Be aware that some platforms sell this as a bundle for $50 including the base game, while others offer it as a separated DLC for $25. You can get it on Steam, the Switch eShop, the PlayStation Store, and the Xbox Store.
Carmen Sandiego 40th Anniversary Edition
If you want to have a physical version of the game – this is the only way to get it. The 40th Anniversary Edition of Carmen Sandiego includes not only a physical copy of the game, but all the content of the digital deluxe version – and additional goodies as well:

For $50 you can get the Nintendo Switch and PS5 version. Although the PlayStation edition is currently sold out, it’s likely to be restocked before release.
