The latest announcement showcases a crossover with the popular hero shooter Overwatch and the legendary fighting game Street Fighter.

Have you always wanted to see your favorite Overwatch heroes in Street Fighter costumes?
Wait no longer!
Although the event is generally well received, there are also critical voices - and comparisons with another video game hit.
Street Fighter In Overwatch – Or Just Cosplay?
When we last reported on Overwatch 2, there were some rumors about collaborations circulating in the community.
Now the new big partnership has been unveiled. The funny thing is that you won't be playing Street Fighter characters directly, but your heroes in corresponding costumes.
There is already a whole list:
- Hanzo as Ryu
- Juno as Chun-Li
- Widowmaker as Cammy
- Kiriko as Juri
- Soldier: 76 as Guile
- Sigma as M. Bison
- Winston as Blanka
- Zenyatta as Dhalsim

What doesn't quite feel like cosplay, however, are the new emotes that are supposed to be available for the event: Since we've only been able to see Ryu (I meant Hanzo) as an in-game model so far, we also know that he yells "Hadouken!" when using his ultimate ability.
I wish I could act that well.

Blizzard Is Going All Out
The announcement was generally regarded as positive.
This could also be due to the fact that players are in a good mood in Overwatch at the moment anyway: The changes to abilities, so-called “perks”, have been one of the most important updates for Overwatch since the 2 was added.
Most players are happy that heroes who didn't fit in so well before are now absolutely playable again.
They also make every game more dynamic and therefore less boring. The new "Stadium" mode is also praised.

Everything Turns Into Fortnite
However, the whole thing is not without criticism. Some people are getting fed up with constant collaborations in their games.
Be it Call of Duty, which recently suffered from a community outcry over the new Seth Rogen skin, or Overwatch, which is now trying to entice us with many events in collaboration with games or K-Pop groups.
This doesn't go down well with some players, who feel that their own universe actually deserves some love and are tired of their games losing more and more of their identity.

And even if you are a total fan and would like to get the Street Fighter skins, the initial criticism of Overwatch 2 still stands.
Many things are available in bundles, the skins are often limited in time and - who would have thought - very expensive.
Well, at least we have loot boxes back!
