At the most recent State of Play, Sony were able to give us an update on over 20 different games. Most excitingly, they announced a sequel to Ghost of Tsushima and DLC for Alan Wake.

Ghost of Yōtei releasing next year

After Sucker Punch's huge success with the first game, it should come as no surprise that we're getting a sequel to Ghost of Tsushima, releasing 2025. The next game will be set in Yōtei, not Tsushima, and will feature a new hero named Atsu.

We don't know many specifics yet, but we were told that the sequel will be set 300 years after the events of Ghost of Tsushima.

Astro Bot receiving free content update

Astro Bot has just been released, and it looks like a GOTY update. The developers, Team Sobi, thanked the community for their support during the State of Play and announced a free content update for Astro Bot coming later this year.

The new content update will include five new speedruns for Sony's little robot, as well as 10 new special bots to be rescued. In the trailer, you could already see a soldier from Helldivers 2 and Eve from Stellar Blade, who will feature as bots:

Alan Wake 2 DLC confirmed for October

Everyone's favorite FBC agent Kiran Estevez will be heading to a brand-new location in the upcoming (paid) DLC for Alan Wake 2, which releases at some point in October.

The trailer suggests thatorganizations from Remedy's other big game, Control, will play a big part in the story:

With Alan Wake 2 being one of the best story-driven games yet released on PS5, we are especially hyped for this one.

Monster Hunter Wilds finally gets a release date

Capcom finally revealed that the next Monster Hunt game will be released on February 28, 2025. And in the same announcement, they also revealed two new monsters: The Uth Duna, a half fish half dragon monster, and the Arkveld, which also looks like a dragon, and will apparently be the flagship monster of Wilds.

A Hitman VR game is on the way

Agent 47 is coming to PSVR 2 in December 2025, with a new VR Hitman experience. Strangle, shoot or poison your target in the POV of the master assassin:

This one might be a bit too much for VR, but we're keeping an open-mind for now.

Remasters galore: Horizon, Soul Reaver & Lunar

Of course, Sony also announced a number of major remasters for the PS5.

Most notable, Sony is releasing a PS5 version of Horizon Zero Dawn. If you already have the title in your library, you can upgrade to the PS5 version on 31 October 2024 for $9.99. This one is coming to PC as well, but you'll need to pay full-price for it.

They also announced a couple of PS3 hits that will be remastered and bundled together. The Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1-2 will release on December 10, 2024, and it looks awesome.

For you retro fans who want to go back even further, Sony revealed the Lunar Remastered Collection, which includes Silver Star Story and Eternal Blue. The collection of JRPG classics will be released on PS4 and PS5 in Spring 2025.

Those were the major highlights from the most recent State of Play, are you excited about any of these games?
