Project Mugen, an upcoming new gacha game, was first announced at Gamescom on August 24, 2023. For a long time, fans were kept waiting without very much news on the games' progress. But that changes today!

Project Mugen is now called Ananta

Just earlier today, Project Mugen announced via a fun little Teaser Trailer that it will from now on be named Ananta. The trailer shows one of their signature characters, Taffy, struggling to come up with a new name – likely reflecting the developers' similar struggle.

It's a cute and hilarious little short that gives us some insight into Taffy's personality, as well as assure us that the game is, in fact, not dead!

And on their official website, they announced that something special, presumably a new trailer, will be uploaded on December 4. So keep your eyes peeled!

What is Project Mugen / Ananta?

Now, if you haven't heard of this incredible looking game before, fret not! Here's a brief summary:

Ananta is a free-to-play urban open-world RPG that looks like a really cool mixture of HoYoverse's Zenless Zone Zero and Sony's Into The Spiderverse.

You can roam through the lively beach city of Nova, either by walking, riding the public transit, driving your own vehicles, or swinging above the skyscrapers without a care in the world. And let's all be honest, swinging around like Spider-Man seems like the coolest thing ever in this game.

The game also offers great open-world combat mechanics and crazy fun looking characters to play, all with their unique abilities and quirks to give you the best experience possible.

If you want to learn more about the game, check out this trailer and their official YouTube channel!

The game is planned to release for PlayStation 5, PC, iOS and Android. However, developer Naked Rain and publisher NetEase Games have not stated a release date yet, but maybe that is what we will be getting on December 4!

Are you excited for Ananta? Do you already have characters that interest you the most? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments!
