Mythwrecked: Ambrosia Island asks the question what would happen if Athena was wearing a turtleneck, blue-haired, and non-binary.
Polygon Treehouse just launched their new game Mythwrecked: Ambrosia Island – a cozy RPG puzzle game that shows the gods of Greek mythology in a refreshing queer way.
Stranded gods
The game puts the player in the role of Alex, who strands on a mysterious island, home of some Greek gods, with no idea who they are or what they are doing. While Alex in the beginning just wants to find a way home, she starts to feel sorry for Zeus and the others and wants to help them recover their memories.
To do so, she has to do favors for a short and curvy Aphrodite, return items lost by the jacked, red-headed Hephaestus sitting in a wheelchair and become friends with non-binary Athena sporting blue hair and a turtleneck.
Solve puzzles to recover lost memory
With the powerful objects each god gives you, you can restore parts of the island, solve environmental puzzles and open locked doors to receive the lost mementos the Greek gods need to get back.
Each and every progression of the story is meaningful and leads to new puzzles and tasks, with Alex trying to get the relationship with everyone up to a higher level to fulfill their wish of remembering who they are.
Mythwrecked: Ambrosia Island is a short but quite fun stand-alone game with a refreshing theme to it, that you can play on the Nintendo Switch, PC via Steam, Xbox One and the Xbox Series X.
