Smite 2 launches its open beta next week, inviting players to explore the third-person MOBA. Fans can also look forward to a new content update.
Hi-Rez Studios has officially announced that Smite 2 will transition from its paid alpha phase to an open beta starting January 14.
This move marks a significant milestone, allowing a broader audience to experience the game without any cost barriers.
After all, the alpha was only available to those who bought the expensive Founder's Edition.

In Smite 2, you play in typical MOBA style, epic god battles in classic 5v5, similar to League of Legends or Dota, but view the action from a third-person perspective rather than top-down.
Choose from an impressive selection of 45 playable gods to engage in strategic battles, combining your divine powers to defeat your opponents.
Major Content Update
Coinciding with the beta launch, a substantial content update will introduce new gods and game modes, further enriching the Smite 2 experience.
Among the highlights are the modes Joust and Duel:
- Joust: This mode takes players to a single-lane map designed for intense 3v3 team battles, emphasizing tight teamwork and strategy.
- Duel: Catering to those who prefer one-on-one combat, Duel offers a more personal and skill-focused experience on smaller, more confined maps.
New Gods And Unique Abilities
The update also brings five new gods into the game. Notably, Aladdin is equipped with an extraordinary toolkit.
His abilities include summoning a genie that grants three powerful wishes:
Instant revival, bonus gold, or resetting cooldowns
With its shift to a free-to-play model, Smite 2 will be available across PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, making it more accessible than ever.
