Netflix negotiations: Is a STALKER series in the works?

For now, details about a potential Netflix adaptation of Stalker remain scarce. However, the streaming giant has confirmed that negotiations are underway with GSC Game World regarding a possible adaptation.

This development aligns with the growing trend of adapting popular video game franchises for film and television.

In an interview with Forbes Ukraine, GSC Game World investor Maksym Krippa expressed enthusiasm for seeing Stalker brought to life in a new medium.

With the recent success of game-based series like The Last of Us and Arcane, and considering the atmospheric, lore-rich world of Stalker, a collaboration with Netflix could hold great promise.

Still, some fans worry that Netflix might pull the plug if the series fails to meet the required viewership numbers:

Meanwhile, many others are excited by the announcement, congratulating the development studio on this potential collaboration:

Stalker 2: Profitable after just two days

A mere few days after its release, GSC Game World announced that Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl had already surpassed one million copies sold.

In addition, the game is being enjoyed by a substantial number of PC and Xbox players through Game Pass.

Despite its extended development period and the “tens of millions of dollars spent on development and marketing, Maksym Krippa confirmed that Stalker 2 has already become profitable.

This success lays a strong foundation for the franchise’s future, paving the way for further expansion and new content updates, such as the recently released Patch 1.1.
