Before a device with wireless features (like the Switch 2) can be sold, it has to be tested and approved by the FCC to make sure it meets safety and interference standards. Recently released documents reveal some key features of the upcoming console, giving us a glimpse of what’s in store. While we still don’t have a confirmed release date, these details hint at some notable upgrades, particularly in connectivity and hardware design.

The biggest takeaway from the leaks is that the Switch 2 will support Wi-Fi 6, offering faster and more reliable connections compared to the original Switch, which used Wi-Fi 5. While it’s not the latest Wi-Fi 7, it’s still a significant upgrade that should improve online gaming performance.
Another notable change is the presence of two USB-C ports, one at the top and one at the bottom, both capable of charging the device. Internally, the Switch 2 carries the model code BEE, with different identifiers for the console, Joy-Cons, and a mysterious Relay Box – possibly hinting at new wireless functionality.
