The Nintendo Switch 2 is getting closer, and thanks to new FCC documents, we now have some fresh details about its features. While Nintendo remains tight-lipped, these leaks give us a sneak peek at what to expect from the next-gen console.

Nintendo fans have been eagerly awaiting official news about the Switch 2, and while Nintendo hasn’t spilled the beans just yet, the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) has done us a favor.
The FCC (Federal Communications Commission) is a U.S. government agency that regulates radio, TV, and wireless communications. Before a device with wireless features (like the Switch 2) can be sold, it has to be tested and approved by the FCC to make sure it meets safety and interference standards. When companies submit their devices for approval, some details often become public – leading to leaks like this one!
Recently released documents reveal some key features of the upcoming console, giving us a glimpse of what’s in store. While we still don’t have a confirmed release date, these details hint at some notable upgrades, particularly in connectivity and hardware design.
Nintendo Switch 2 Leaks Reveal WiFi Upgrades, Amiibo & More
The biggest takeaway from the leaks is that the Switch 2 will support Wi-Fi 6, offering faster and more reliable connections compared to the original Switch, which used Wi-Fi 5. While it’s not the latest Wi-Fi 7, it’s still a significant upgrade that should improve online gaming performance.
Another notable change is the presence of two USB-C ports, one at the top and one at the bottom, both capable of charging the device. This could mean more flexible docking and charging options for players on the go. The console will also continue to support NFC, meaning your Amiibo collection isn’t going anywhere.
Internally, the Switch 2 carries the model code BEE, with different identifiers for the console, Joy-Cons, and a mysterious Relay Box – possibly hinting at new wireless functionality.
Nintendo is expected to reveal more on April 2 during their next Nintendo Direct. Until then, the hype train continues!
