Star Wars Episode 1: Jedi Power Battles is getting remastered, and will be released January 2025.
Try to wrap your head around the fact that this game is 25 years old now. Wow, we feel horribly old. But, hey, at least the best games of our adolescence are being remastered for the zoomers.

Star Wars Episode 1: Jedi Power Battles will be released on PS4, PS5, the Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC, on January 23, 2025. If you didn't play the original, this is a side-scrolling arcade game focused on action packed Lightsaber battles.
The remastered version will come with a number of new features, in addition to the improved graphics. For instance, whereas in the original game, Mace Windu wielded a blue Lightsaber instead of his iconic purple (you know, the one he got canonically because Samuel L. Jackson straight up just wanted it), you can now choose the color of your Lightsaber.
Another, slightly more questionable, feature is that you get everything from the start. All secret characters and levels are unlocked from the beginning, giving you the full game experience from day one. And the developers have promised that even more characters will be announced ahead of the game's release, giving you brand-new icons to play as.
This edition also includes the PVP and training modes you could enjoy in the expanded release of the original, as well as a local co-op mode and a bunch of classic cheat codes like the Big Head Mode.
So, if you’re a Padawan coming totally new to the game, or have been a Jedi battle master for years, we’re sure you will have fun with this remastered version of a now-25-year-old game.Did this game need a remaster, and will you be buying it?
