Getting Battle Pass XP without having to work for it sounds too good to be true – and it is.

On TikTok, there are thousands of videos that advertise XP-farming maps on Fortnite and promise that you'll be able to finish the entire Battle Pass within a few minutes without even having to play – unfortunately, we'll have to burst your bubble and tell you that this is a scam.
"Completed The New OG Pass In 7.5 Minutes 💀😭"
Have you ever searched for Fortnite XP maps on TikTok and stumbled upon a promise like this? According to these creators, you can just join a map, stand there AFK for about 10 minutes and then get hundreds of thousands of XP.
Well, unfortunately, these maps and videos are a scam and the amount of XP the players get in these videos is edited. While these maps will usually give you some XP, it's not nearly as much as is shown in the videos, and they typically won't boost you up by more than 1 level.
Fortnite restricts the amount of XP you can make in a certain amount of time across all modes, even more so now that all of the passes are part of the monthly-paid Fortnite crew subscription. Epic wants you to stay subscribed for as long as possible, so you can barely finish a pass within a month anymore unless you play A LOT. There are no exceptions for these AFK-XP maps and the "XP glitch" promises are a lie.
So why do these influencers advertise these maps, then? Because they're usually the ones who have created them. Not only do they profit off the interaction their TikToks get, but creators also get money from Fortnite if their maps are well-visited.
That's also why there are timers on the maps that make you wait for your XP – the more time players spend on their map, the more money they get, so they can't just give you all of the AFK-XP right away, or else they'd make no profit.
Scammy Tricks
If you've ever looked at the comment sections of these videos, you might notice that there's always a ton of comments saying, "I'm testing the map right now"... and then there are replies asking how it went, yet you never hear back from the person who's actually tested it.
Did all of these people forget to come back to the video and provide their results? Nope. The creators typically restrict the comment sections. Every comment needs to be approved by them before being shown to the public, so that no one can comment that the map doesn't actually work.
All of the other comments do get approved, including the ones asking people how the testing went, because the more comments a video gets, the more the TikTok algorithm will recommend the video to people. Only the ones that try to tell people that it's a scam get deleted.
In short, if you wanna progress in the Battle Pass, you'll probably have to play. You can alternate between different modes because Fortnite sets the weekly XP limit per mode, but you will have to work for your levels.
