Fans have been longingly waiting for the next Deltarune chapters, and the wait might be over soon.

Deltarune

Deltarune is a follow-up to the 2015 role-playing game Undertale. However, while Undertale was released as a full game, Deltarune has been split into episodes, the first of which was released in 2018 and the second one in 2021. Since then, the game's community has been waiting for new content.

This new content is mostly up to Toby Fox, the developer behind both Undertale and Deltarune, who also published and designed them, and composed the games' soundtrack - a jack of all trades, basically. Well, Toby Fox has now posted a thread on BlueSky, a Twitter/X-like app many anti-Musk people have resorted to, where he's been providing news on the next Deltarune chapters.

Announcements On New Chapters

For the announcements, Fox has created an entire thread on BlueSky where he regularly posts updates:

The first post, made on January 6, announced that Chapter 4 of Deltarune was being bug-tested on PC. On January 21, he added information on translation and updated the community on how the testing had been going:

Translation: The text and implementation are done, working on fixing some last issues. Testing: Still ongoing. One tester said "players will find it very inconvenient that you cannot save or load in the Light World"... I was initially resistant, but I decided to add Save Points there in Chapter 4. - Toby Fox

Later on, he announced that the console testing started on February 4, as the game will be released for PC, Mac, Switch, PS4 and PS5. The most recent (non-joking) announcement that appeared on February 17 reads as follows:

Still console testing. There are fewer bugs, but there's a lot to go through. (Haven't even tested PS5 yet). In addition to fixing Ch3/Ch4, we also need to implement having saves from the DEMO carry over to the main game on consoles... We only received the technology to do this now. I hope it works! - Toby Fox

So it looks like progress is being made and new content is probably coming soon, although the statement "I hope it works!" may mean that fans might need to be patient for just a little while longer. - But maybe we should be glad that someone's actually trying to eliminate bugs from their game BEFORE releasing it and not afterwards.

Are you looking forward to new Deltarune content? Let us know in the comments!
