We've probably all curiously checked out other players' skins when spawning into a Fortnite lobby before. Now, a player has made an unexpected discovery in his Battle Royale lobby: An unreleased skin.
Bots In Fortnite
It's been common for Fortnite lobbies to include bots ever since they were first added in Chapter 2, Season 1. Typically, they play worse and more predictable than real people. Some players don't mind them, others hate them and have tried to appeal to Epic Games to at least create specific matches that only recruit real players, specifically ranked ones.
Typically, Fortnite dresses its bots in a combination of random cosmetics and their usernames are also randomly generated, which is why you can really only recognize them by the way they play. But one user found a bot that stood out in a different way – it was wearing a skin that hasn't been released for purchase yet.
Bot Wearing An Unreleased Ghoul Skin
Recently, on the official Battle Royale subreddit, a user posted that a friend of theirs had encountered a bot with an unreleased ghoul skin and provided some screenshots.

The skin had been leaked before but isn't available in the game yet. It's also unclear when it will be released, although, according to leakers, it's supposed to be item shop skin (as opposed to battle pass, exclusive or Crew skins). We suspect that it will probably still be added in Chapter 6, Season 1 since this season's theme would fit its samurai-style outfit.
Other users then reported that they'd encountered similar situations, which led to the suspicion that Fortnite bots might pull an outfit from a selection of cosmetics without knowing if they've been released or not.
Do you think that making bots wear unreleased skins is an accident on Fortnite's side? Or do you suspect it to be a promo move, to get players excited about them before the release? Let us know your opinion in the comments!
