In this article, you’ll get to know these new and upcoming Wuthering Waves characters, which will give you a peek into future WuWa updates.
Upcoming Wuthering Waves Characters: Officially Announced and Rumored
Here are all the upcoming Wuthering Waves characters that have been officially announced or are rumored to be released in the game soon:
Changli
Changli is an upcoming character in Wuthering Waves (WuWa), was first revealed in a Drip Marketing post by Kuro Games, and it’s speculated that she will be a 5-star Resonator.
On June 02, 2024, Kuro Games officially announced that Changli will be a playable character in Version 1.1 of WuWa and she is expected to be available in Phase 2 of the version update.
Wuthering Waves folklore says that Changli is Jinhsi's teacher and that Jinzhou's judge consulted him. Most fans who have speculated about Changli's abilities have said that he is either Fusion or Havoc Resonator and that he may be holding a sword or gauntlet.
According to recent reports, Changli is a 5-star Fusion-Element resonator who wields swords. Her gameplay is similar to that of Danjin, with fast combos and heavy damage. In terms of base damage, he is expected to be among the strongest Wuthering Waves characters.
Jinhsi
Jinhsi is another upcoming character in Wuthering Waves. Jinhsi was first revealed on May 17, 2024, in a Drip Marketing post by Kuro Games, and it’s speculated that she will be a 5-star Resonator.
On June 02, 2024, it was officially announced that Jinhsi will be a playable character in Version 1.1 of WuWa and will likely be available in Phase 1 of the version update, which will be released on June 28th.
Due to her appearance and demeanor, Jinhsi has gained popularity among Wuthering Waves enthusiasts despite initially being an NPC. Although Jinhsi's powers remain unknown, new information suggests that she will be a Spectro-Elemental Resonator with a Broadblade.
If these reports are accurate, Jinhsi's game will be reminiscent of Jiyan, with a heavy emphasis on her dragon summoning power. Ages of Harvest, her special weapon, is also said to have the extraordinary ability to increase the damage bonus by up to 24% on all traits.
Camellya
Camellya is expected to join Wuthering Waves soon, given her appearance as a playable character in the closed beta. She is speculated to be a 5-Star Sword character and have Havoc as her element.
Leaks indicate she has flower manipulation abilities, as shown in some cutscenes from Wuthering Waves 1.0. Her crowd-control skills reportedly involve using her vines to pull in enemies or to grapple-hook them. However, little is known about her past, except that she is associated with the Black Shores faction.
Scar
Scar's potential inclusion as a playable character in Wuthering Waves has generated mixed opinions. He is speculated to be a 5-Star Gauntlet character and have Havoc or Fusion as his element. Some fans believe he could become a Resonator, as antagonists in other Gacha games often do.
Scar's popularity makes his addition plausible, though his unique weapon, cards, might present technical challenges. During his boss fights, he engages in close-range combat and throws projectiles, suggesting a gameplay mechanic where he uses Gauntlets and then switches to cards for his Ultimate. However, there is no official confirmation about his future as a playable character.
Phrolova
Phrolova, another anticipated character, is shrouded in mystery. She is speculated to be a 4-Star Sword character and have Havoc or Fusion as her element.
Seen using a magical wand to summon Echoes in a cutscene, integrating her abilities into the combat system could be challenging. It has been suggested that, much like Calcharo's phantom, in her Ultimate form, she can call forth Echo-like shadows, and could wield a sword.
Despite some players' hopes for Scar and Phrolova to be future playable characters, there are no hints from Kuro Games that this will happen anytime soon.
