Today, December 12, Geoff Keighley's annual The Game Awards is taking place for the tenth time, and we gathered everything you need to know beforehand.

For the tenth anniversary of The Game Awards it seems like Geoff has some surprises planned. After his other shows this didn’t quite meet expectations with him warning fans before that the Summer Game Fest would be more about game announcements than surprises and Silksong not being revealed at the Gamescom Opening Night Live – everybody is waiting for something big at TGA.

Past announcements during the event included Hades 2, Death Stranding or Alan Awake 2 and the community is sure that some exciting reveals will come along. Here we answer the question of when and where you can join the event, gathered everything that is known so far and tell you about a few things we think might await us during The Game Awards.

When will The Game Awards happen?

TGA 2024 will premier on December 12, at 4:30 pm Pacific time live from Los Angeles. You will be able to watch the event on YouTube, Twitch, Steam, TikTok Live, and a few other social media platforms.

The Game Awards will air at:

  • 4:30 pm PDT, December 12 (Los Angeles)
  • 7:30 pm EDT, December 12 (New York)
  • 9:30 pm BRT, December 12 ( São Paulo)
  • 12:30 am GMT, December 13 (London)
  • 1:30 am CEST, December 13 (Berlin)
  • 11:30 am AEDT, December 13 (Sydney)
  • 1:30 pm NZDT, December 13 (Auckland)

What will happen during the show?

It seems like there is a lot planned to be happening during the three and a half hours long show. Next to – of course – the Awards themselves, we expect some big surprises and reveals. Here’s a list of some of the already announced events that will happen during the show:

  • Borderlands 4 will give us a new gameplay trailer.
  • There will be new information about Dying Light: The Beast.
  • The developers of It Takes Two, Hazelight Studio will reveal their next game.
  • Mafia: The Old Country, the Mafia prequel will have a global reveal.
  • Palworld will make an appearance and probably tell us more about the game’s next update.
  • We will get an update on Warframe 1999.

Rumors and expectations

Of course there are way more rumors, alleged leaks and other “top secret” information flying around, but everything else should be taken with a grain of salt. Even though it is true that Hideo Kojima will be an award presenter, the chances for a Death Stranding 2 trailer are not very high – but they are not zero either...

Other things we’re waiting – or at least hoping – for are:

  • Resident Evil 9: While Capcom right now seems pretty focused on Monster Hunter: Wilds, a recently spotted Metacritic page for Resident Evil 9 was fuel to rumors about an announcement of the game during TGA.
  • Silksong: There might be more information about Silksong but probably more in the likeness of a pre-showcase-thingy than a new trailer.
  • The announcement of a new game by Naughty Dog.
  • A new game by God of War’s Sony Santa Monica.
  • A better look at Insomniac's Wolverine.
  • More about Kingdom Heats 4 by Square Enix.

Oh, and in case you wondered, it’s more than unlikely that anything GTA 6 trailer related might happen during the event.

And that’s pretty much everything we know (or speculate about) so far – everything else will be shown during The Game Awards today at 4:30 pm Pacific Time.

Will you watch the show live? What you're expecting from this years The Game Awards?
