After noticing a detail in the trailer, fans are now threatening to cancel their pre-orders in masses.... wait, what?
A Game Trailer That Could Be A Movie
Pretty much every gamer has seen both Grand Theft Auto: VI trailers by now: The first has 261 million clicks, while the second has already reached 114 million. And given the length of time we've been waiting for the release of the new installment, it's not surprising that GTA-hungry fans are overanalyzing every frame of these cinematic “story trailers”. You can see that attention has been paid to pretty much every detail, from individual wires in fences to carbon dioxide bubbles in beers. But one thing was unfortunately overlooked.
"Unplayable"
A Reddit user has been able to determine through careful analysis that a light source appears in a scene before the corresponding pistol is fired. Of course, this is such a subtle detail that the vast majority of players didn't even notice it. And so the scene is simply split into individual frames to illustrate the whole thing.
And that is precisely why players are now joking that the game would be "unplayable" as a result.

The sarcastic comments of course allude to the fact that the rest of the trailers looked almost perfect and that a lot of effort was put into them. That you have to look so closely to even find a mistake.
People Are Canceling Their... Pre-Orders?
First of all: Don't worry, you haven't missed anything and of course you can't pre-order the game yet! Nevertheless, Reddit users were surprised when they came across an article claiming that players had canceled their pre-orders due to this story. In a now-deleted Reddit thread, fans are wondering where these people are who apparently pre-ordered a game that isn't due to come out for another year.
While it is later confirmed within the post that there would be no pre-orders yet, but is just one of the community's jokes regarding the fine detail, it is quite conceivable that some players were startled after reading this headline.
When Can We Actually Expect Pre-Orders?
Whether and when it will be possible to pre-order the game depends entirely on Rockstar. Either way, we probably shouldn't expect it before the end of the year after the game was recently postponed to spring 2026. It's understandable that people are a little disappointed after this announcement, but it's also clear that after all the waiting, fans are simply eager to see the final result and are happy to wait a few months longer.
