A recent leak by Jez Corden from Windows Central, one of the leading sites for Windows- and Microsoft-focused news, has given us a glimpse into what Microsoft has in store for the Xbox Games Showcase 2024. According to Corden, Microsoft plans to unveil some new games and hardware updates that will significantly expand the Xbox ecosystem.

The next Call of Duty game, Black Ops 6 will be officially revealed in its own segment after the overall showcase. Gears of War 6 is set to be announced and bring big improvements to melee combat, moving past the iconic chainsaw bayonets to more intense close-quarters battles. Fans can look forward to the same brutal action and stunning visuals, promising an even deeper and more thrilling experience.

Among the highlights, we can expect to see new titles like Avowed from Obsidian Entertainment, which promises a rich RPG experience like in "The Elder Scrolls." Other notable mentions include Towerborne, a cooperative beat 'em up, and the 4X strategy game Ara: History Untold.

On the hardware front, leaks suggest mid-generation refreshes for the Xbox Series X and S, codenamed Brooklin and Ellewood, which will feature enhanced connectivity but no major hardware upgrades. Moreover, a new Xbox controller, codenamed Sebile, is expected to debut with improved Bluetooth and platform-switching capabilities
