If you game on a budget, there’s big news coming because Microsoft is doing what other subscription companies have done by raising their prices. Microsoft has significantly increased the price of Xbox Game Pass. For gamers, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is still pretty cool because it saves you a lot of money. But if you don’t play many games, you might think Xbox Game Pass costs too much and think about canceling it to save some money.

Here this article talks all about the latest changes made to Xbox Game Pass.

Xbox Game Pass Changes: New Price and Features for Ultimate, Core, and PC, and New Standard Tier

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, which used to cost ₹549 per month, has been increased to ₹829 per month.

Additionally, the price for Xbox Game Pass Core has gone up from ₹1999 to ₹3349 and the six-month plan for Game Pass Core has been raised from ₹749 to ₹1799

And finally, the monthly price for Game Pass PC has increased from ₹549 to ₹829.

There is also a new Xbox Game Pass plan called Game Pass Standard, which will cost around ₹1250 per month. It includes access to all old games and offers multiplayer options, but you won’t get new games on the day they release. This standard plan will be available starting in September.

Do note that existing members won't see the new pricing until September 12th, and prepaid codes can still be bought at the old rates. But to play online (except for free-to-play games) on your console, you need at least an Xbox Game Pass Core subscription. The subscription options now include Xbox Game Pass Core, Xbox Game Pass Standard, and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

All Xbox Game Pass Tier's Features After Price Hike

Here’s a breakdown of each Xbox Game Pass tier's features after the price hike:

  • Xbox Game Pass Ultimate: Online play, full access to both Xbox and PC Game Pass libraries, including Day One games, EA Play, Xbox Cloud Gaming, discounts, and perks.
  • Xbox Game Pass Core: Online play and access to a limited Game Pass library.
  • PC Game Pass: Full access to the PC Game Pass library, including Day One games, EA Play, discounts, and perks. No subscription needed for online play.
  • Xbox Game Pass Standard: Online play, full access to the Game Pass library, but no Day One games.

Note that Xbox Game Pass Standard hasn't launched yet but will soon.

Additionally, starting July 10, Xbox Game Pass for Console will no longer be available to new customers. Active subscribers with automatic renewal will continue to access the tier. However, if the membership expires and automatic renewal is disabled, access to the tier will be lost. Also, starting September 18, Xbox Game Pass for Console stacking will be limited to 13 months.

Well, the reception of this price hike has not been nice with many complaining that the increase with nothing new is not worth it and even the new tier is also not worth trying. But what are your thoughts on this?
