Zenless Zone Zero reportedly made $100 million in July 2024, showing just how successful and strong it is in the gacha market.
HoYoverse's new game, Zenless Zone Zero, has been a big hit since it launched on July 4, 2024. In its first month, the game made around $100 million, which was more than anyone expected, and beat many other games.
According to recent reports, Zenless Zone Zero earned about $96 million in July, with the total amount reaching around $100 million. This amazing performance put it ahead of games like Wuthering Waves and even Genshin Impact, its sister title, for the month of July.
Most of the money came from China, which brought in nearly $69 million, while Japan and other places added about $31 million.
Even though Zenless Zone Zero did great, it still made less money than Genshin Impact, which earned $250 million in its first months, and Honkai Star Rail, which made $130 million. Still, this strong start is a good sign for the game's future.
What is Zenless Zone Zero about?
For those unaware of the game, Zenless Zone Zero is a fantasy action RPG set in a world after a big disaster. Players explore a ruined land, fight enemies, and do lots of missions.
The game has already been downloaded 50 million times worldwide, showing lots of people like it. And to keep the fans excited, HoYoverse has even announced the first global fan event for the game, called Drip Fest. This event invites players to share their creative works, like graffiti, drawings, videos, and cosplay.
In addition to the global event, the game's next big update, ZZZ version 1.1, is also coming on August 14, 2024. It will have new rewards, events, and story content, making players even more interested.
Overall, Zenless Zone Zero’s great first month shows it is very successful and sets high hopes for its future.
