HoYoverse has revealed the full lineup of 5-star characters featured in the upcoming banners, including a brand-new face from the mysterious Nod-Krai region— Ineffa—alongside some fan-favourite returning characters.

What’s New in the Genshin Impact 5.8 Banners?
The Genshin Impact 5.8 banners come in two phases, each offering unique characters and rewards.
Phase 1: Introducing Ineffa and Citlali
Starting July 30, the first phase will introduce Ineffa, the first-ever inorganic character in Genshin Impact.
Ineffa is an Electro polearm user with a fascinating new mechanic called the Lunar-Charged elemental reaction. This reaction deals damage based on Attack instead of Elemental Mastery and leaves lingering Thunderclouds that can trigger additional effects, making her gameplay really unique. She also provides shields to her teammates and works especially well with Hydro characters to maximise her potential.
Along with Ineffa, players will also get the chance to pull Citlali, a Cryo catalyst user making her first rerun appearance. Citlali is great for teams that rely on Melt or Freeze combos. She brings powerful off-field Cryo damage and shielding abilities, helping both offence and defence.
Both banners come with three strong 4-star characters, offering plenty of choices for players looking to round out their teams.
Phase 2: Reruns of Chasca and Mualani
The second phase, arriving on August 19, 2025, will feature the reruns of two more beloved characters:
- Chasca, an Anemo bow user who can boost her own attacks by drawing elemental power from her allies and trigger powerful Swirl reactions. She’s also great for exploration thanks to her vertical traversal skill.
- Mualani, a fast Hydro catalyst user who rides her Sharky Surfboard and deals significant damage with her basic attacks. She’s perfect for players who want strong on-field Hydro DPS without relying heavily on elemental reactions.
These two characters have proven popular for their unique skills and versatility, so their rerun banners are sure to attract many players.

Should You Pull on the Genshin Impact 5.8 Banners?
