Indian esports legend Tanmay “ScoutOP” Singh has officially retired from BGMI esports after BGMS 2025, ending a seven-year journey that defined an era.

The Indian gaming community bid farewell to one of its greatest icons as ScoutOP announced his retirement from competitive BGMI esports on September 14, 2025, following the conclusion of the BGMI Masters Series (BGMS) 2025. Playing his final tournament for Medal Esports, the 30-year-old veteran leaves behind a legacy that helped shape the competitive gaming industry in India.

A Storied Career of ScoutOP

ScoutOP began his professional journey during the PUBG Mobile Star Challenge Asia Finals 2018 in Thailand and quickly established himself as one of India’s finest. His scouting, flanking, and fragging abilities made him a tactical genius, feared and respected across the competitive scene.

Through his career spanning 2018 to 2025, Scout played for 10 different organisations, including:

  • GodLike Esports
  • Team IND
  • Fnatic
  • Orange Rock
  • Team SouL
  • Team XSpark (later Revenant XSpark)
  • 7Sea Esports (loaned)
  • Team Zero
  • Wyld Fangs
  • Medal Esports, his final team

In 2019, he co-founded Team XSpark, which later partnered with Revenant Esports in 2024 to form Revenant XSpark, where he served as brand ambassador.

Emotional Farewell to BGMI Competitive Scene

In his official announcement on social media, Scout wrote:

"Sayonara twitter fam, Thank you for all the love and trolls I have experienced during this journey. Sometimes goodbye hurts more than breakups. Life me har time mene apko kaha h never give up but sry aaj me khudse hi har gaya. Aaj nhi toh kal trophy India ani h. Keep grinding."

Later, he signed off permanently with a short message after BGMS 2025: “Officially signing off. Tysm for everything.”

His final tournament run with Medal Esports saw the team finish eighth overall in BGMS 2025.

Scout's Career Highlights

Over seven years, Scout accumulated numerous accolades and became one of the first Indian esports stars with international recognition.

  • 2nd place – PUBG Mobile World League East 2020 (Orange Rock) – India’s first-ever podium finish at a global PUBG event.
  • 3rd place – Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) 2023 (Team XSpark)
  • 1st place – Fighting League India 2018
  • 1st place – Thug Invitational Season 4
  • 2nd place – ESL India Premiership Summer Finals 2020
  • 9th place – PUBG Mobile World Invitational 2022 (7Sea Esports, loaned)

Throughout his esports journey, he amassed over $64,000 in tournament winnings.

More than a decorated competitive player, ScoutOP is also one of India’s biggest gaming influencers, boasting over 5 million YouTube subscribers and 4.4 million Instagram followers. His streams, guides, and gameplay highlights inspired millions of Indian gamers to pursue esports and competitive gaming.

Even when PUBG Mobile was banned in 2020, Scout adapted seamlessly to BGMI in 2021, continuing to lead by example on and off the battlefield.

An undisputed crowd favorite, he also received the Fan Favorite Player Award at PMWI 2022, a testament to his bond with the community.

Well, with ScoutOP retiring, Indian esports is saying goodbye to a trailblazer of PUBG Mobile and BGMI, whose contributions will forever remain part of the game’s history. His grit, charisma, and consistency inspired countless gamers to believe that India could compete with the world.
